Couples celebrate Valentine’s Day in Myanmar

Valentine’s Day as celebrated in Myanmar saw everything from expressions of love to pop concerts and a Lethwei championship fight.
Valentine’s Day celebrated annually on February 14 has turned from a Christian celebration into a chic celebration of love in many countries around the world.
While the popular celebration has yet to grow to the level it is celebrated in neighbouring Thailand - where it is heavily commercialized - it it still proving a hit in Myanmar's main cities, particularly Yangon and Mandalay. And in several of the the commercial capital's shopping centres.
