A speeding military truck on Friday afternoon dashed into a passenger bus and hit an electric pole in Rangoon’s Lanmadaw Township. Photo - Mizzima. The accident, however, did not result in casualties though a few people were reportedly injured, eyewitnesses said. The Trade Exhibition, which began on Friday, 20 March 2009, is being held at Rangoon’s Military Hall (IV). Photo – Mizzima. About 180 show rooms are showcasing accessories, jewellery and services at the exhibition. Besides, the exhibition is also facilitating signing of business agreements. Demonstrations by supporters of Thailand's former premier Thaksin Shinawatra on Saturday, February 21, foiled a planned protest by Gay & Lesbian Rights activists demanding equal rights. Burmese nationals are also reported to be among the Gay & Lesbian rights activists, who planned to stage a protest in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand on Saturday.
