Officials took part in opening ceremony for the The Myanmar Plaza, offering a wide range of shops, restaurants and special events as part of a US $440-million development on Kabar Aye Pagoda road in Yangon.
The event took place on December 4.
The development includes office towers, a hotel and residential apartments. The shopping plaza is part of a project by Vietnamese property developer Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL).
The shopping plaza features a 4,000-square-metre food court with 31 cafes, fast food, fine dining and teashops, and will be the largest in Myanmar. The court will have a Burmese corner, International corner and Gourmet corner.
The Eclipse Bar and KTV Family will operate on the garden rooftop with a view of Inya Lake.
The plaza also features two department stores, Blazon and MK, and several high-end brands including Chopard, Zegna and Furla.
During December there will be year-end programs and activities, including a giant community Christmas tree lighting ceremony, dance and music shows, a charity program and special talent showcases.
