Myanmar Property Report Congress hosted a forum at Sule Shangri-La on 30 June, featuring industry leaders and local experts, the event was then followed by the Asia Property Awards ceremony.
Property Report is a bi-monthly English-language magazine and website brand started in Thailand in 2004 and is owned by Ensign Media. The Asia Property Awards is one of the largest real estate awards in South East Asia. Congresses and Awards have taken place in Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam since February this year and are scheduled to take place in Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore culminating in the South East Asia Property Awards Grande Finale on October 27.
The convention featured speakers such as Richard Emerson, country manager of Savills, Dan Davies of Colliers International, John Anderson from Meinhardt Myanmar, Adam Castillo of Scipio Services and Craig Maturi from Yoma Strategies Holdings.
During the forum, the panel discussed issues ranging from Myanmar’s future market trends, property and facility management, the role of banks and the central government in issues of mortgages and how property developers can improve customer engagement through content marketing.
A total of 16 awards was given to developers. Winners included Shwe Taung Development Co. Ltd for the category of Best Developer, Sedona Hotel – for three categories of Best Hotel Architectural Design, Best Hotel Interior Design, Best Commercial Development and Best Hotel Development, and Hong An Gia Lai for Best Retail Development.
