KOSPA Limited has opened a US$5 million multi-temperature storage facility in Yangon.
The facility will eventually create an “end-to-end cold chain logistic” service throughout Myanmar.
The storage facility is located on Highway 3 at the Yangon exit to the Nay Pyi Taw – Mandalay highway in Mingaladon Township.
The 4,500-square-meter facility includes fully racked storage chambers with independently managed and controlled storage temperature conditions, company officials said. The chambers provide for temperatures ranging from ambient to frozen (minus 18 degrees Celsius).
The facility is designed to serve both large and small scale clients with adjustable truck-docking facilities.
The multi-temperature controlled trucks are expected to serve a range of customers including agricultural, pharmaceutical, hotels and restaurants.
Melvyn Pun, CEO of Yoma Strategic, a partner company with Kokubu Corp., said growth in Myanmar’s economy, particularly the export of agriculture and fisheries related products, will create a large demand for cold-chain logistical facilities to service the entire country.
