Welfare of the state is more important than winning or losing in elections - Thein Sein

Former President Thein Sein said the 2020 general elections must be contested fairly and the welfare of the state was more important than who wins or loses. This was conveyed in a message sent to supporters and sympathizers of the Union Development and Solidarity Party (USDP).

COVID-19 pandemic and election time must be assumed as unfortunate and voters should be careful to follow the pandemic precautions and protocols as per the guidelines and directives issued by authorities to protect themselves from being infected with this deadly virus, he said.

Former President Thein Sein is a retired army General and he hails from Kyoneku village, Ngapudaw Township, Ayeyarwady Region and he is now living in Naypyitaw with his family.
