USDP candidate for the House of Nationalities Bago Region No. 8 constituency, Khin Shwe Myint, said that her party would not retain the current foreign experts hired by the incumbent government if the party could form a government after 2020 general elections.

In her election campaign, she visited some wards and villages in Pyi Township and over 500 USDP party supporters and sympathizers reportedly appeared at the campaign rallying around the party.

USDP candidate for House of Representatives from Pyi constituency, Aung Cho Oo, said that in their campaign, they faced opposition by some villages which did not let them in.
