Tatmadaw (Defence Services) True News Information Team Vice Chairman Maj. Gen. Tun Tun Nyi told Mizzima that RCSS/SSA (Restoration Council of Shan States/Shan State Army) attacked a Tatmadaw Enquiry team during a field visit in to the death of a civilian in happened in Pan Kyan village, Kyaukme Township, northern Shan State, some were wounded.

On July 15, Tatmadaw True News Information team issued a press release saying an enquiry team from Northeast Command Headquarters led by a senior military officer and consisting of police personnel from Kyaukme District Police Force were on their way to a crime scene in Pan Kyan village when they were fired on.
