SNLD has not yet decided whether to meet with the NLD delegation
NLD head office in Shan State.

The Shan Nationalities League for Democracy (SNLD) is still in internal talks and has not yet made a decision whether to meet with the ruling National League for Democracy’s special envoys for ethnic affairs, said SNLD General Secretary Sai Leik.

"The invitation has been officially received. Discussions are still underway to meet, but no decision has been made yet," said Sai Leik.

To hold talks with ethnic parties on the future federal union, Dr. Aung Moe Nyo, Magway Region Chief Minister, Karen State Prime Minister Nang Khin Htwe Myint and National Assembly member Ntung Hka Naw Sam arrived in Taunggyi city today (January 13) and held talks with the Pa-O National Party (PNO)
and Ta'arng (Palaung) National Party (TNP) at the NLD office in Taunggyi Township.

The NLD has adhered strictly to the principle of dialogue in its party offices, and previous talks have failed. This delegation team visited Kayah State prior to the visit to Shan State for negotiations with Kayah State Democratic Party (KySDP), but failed due to a disagreement over the venue. The winning SNLD representative did not attend the meeting during this delegation team trip to Kachin State.
