Security forces captured a training camp belonging to the Arakan Army (AA) near Phonenyoleik Village in Buthidaung Township on 28 April, according to the military. Some AA members were killed and ammunition was seized from the camp during the operation, state media reported.

Security forces conducted a security operation about 12,000 meters southeast of Phonenyoleik Village during which, AA members retreated in the south-east direction towards the camp. After the operation, the security forces found some bodies and ammunition at the camp.

There were two parade grounds, 49 huts, and foxholes in the camp, the report said.
