A security policeman of Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein’s convoy tested positive for COVID-19 on 5 October, Dagon Township Administrator U Ei New Hlaing Pu told Mizzima.

The other four people, three family members of the security policeman and another security policeman, also tested positive for COVID-19, he said.

After the five people tested positive for the disease, the Yangon Region government office was locked down, according to a regional MP.
