Myanmar authorities seized fake currency in the denomination of 10,000 Myanmar kyats in southern Tanintharyi region, Xinhua reported quoting state media.

A total of 50 counterfeit currency notes were seized from a man who came to remit money for the remainder of payment for a car which he purchased two months ago at Ayeyarwady bank branch in Myeik city on Wednesday morning.

Local police have filed a case against the 63-year-old gardener under the Central Bank of Myanmar Law, the report said.
