Police and the military have arrested two education workers in front of an education college at around 8:30 am yesterday in Myitkyina, Kachin State who were preparing to go with a protest column for an anti-military protest.

As the protest column prepared to leave, police and army soldiers arrived with vehicles and beat and arrested the education workers, according to a teacher who was an eyewitness.

Currently, the military and police are trying to disperse the peaceful groups of protesters to prevent them from joining together.
