Myanmar embassy consul general office (Chiang Mai) a issued press statement dated March 13 which says that Thai government informed them that the personal data of foreigners visiting Thailand will be kept for 14 days.

All foreigners including Myanmar nationals who will enter Thai kingdom from entry ports of international airports must download AOT Airports apps in their mobile handsets before doing immigration and passport control matters and they must enter their name, passport number, contact number, email address, hotel address where they will stay and all these data must be produced before the immigration officer on duty at passport control counters.

Myanmar embassy Consul General Office (Chiang Mai) issued press statement which says that the personal data of foreign travellers will be kept for 14 days from the date of entry and also the Thai government informed them to follow the guideline issued by the host country.

On March 11, WHO declared the COVID-19 pandemic and also Thai government declared this virus as 14th deadly severe and rapid transmission infectious disease as per their 2015 Infectious Disease Act.

The Thai government is reportedly conducting strict immigration and visa processes as precautionary measures for preventing and containing the transmission and spread of this deadly virus.

The press statement issued by Myanmar embassy Consul General Office (Chiang Mai) further says that ordinary Myanmar passport holders entering Thailand from Chiang Mai International Airport may contact their numbers +66-6-366 53955, +66-9-873 95478 if they need emergency assistance from them.
