Over 30,000 Myanmar workers find employment in May

Myanmar sent 30,326 workers to work abroad legally in May, according to a Xinhua report.

The immigrant workers include 20,977 sent to Thailand, 8,237 sent to Malaysia, 658 to Japan, 377 to South Korea and 37 to Singapore.

In addition, 24,019 domestic job seekers were offered employment in some regions during May in Yangon, Bago, Mandalay, Sagaing, Ayeyawaddy and Tanintharyi.

Some 1,685 locals found employment in the states scattering in Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Shan and Rakhine.

The Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population said it is striving to create better employment opportunities through a new online labour exchange management system which serves as a bridge between employers and employees.
