The National League for Democracy (NLD) held an election campaign in Hlegu Township, Yangon Region on October 25 with tens of thousands of party members in a mass rally.

In the campaign, party members from Phaung Gyi joined the rally with a 3-mile long motorcade with floats and pickups on Yangon-Bago highway and played campaign music.

But the party did not give any instruction to the campaign and there was no leader in it. Party members reportedly organized the rally themselves. Hlegu is the constituency of incumbent Yangon Region Chief Minister Phyo Min Thein from NLD.
