A new Israeli Financial Development grant launched in Myanmar

The Embassy of Israel in Myanmar’ development program by MASHAV – Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation, launched a grant new Israeli Financial Development Tool to MASHAV Alumni in Myanmar. Grant on 10,000USD is intended to support the Pann Pyoe Lett Foundation- PPLF, leading by Daw K. Seng Raw, Program Director of PPLF.

Daw K Seng Raw is a MASHAV alumina who participated in a 16 weeks course on Bilingualism and Multilingualism in Early Childhood Education in METC, Haifa, Israel, in 2003. In 2017, she did her M.A in Child Development at the Haifa University of Israel. She also contributed to the translation of the Israeli children's book called “The Soul Bird” to 5 local languages. Currently, she is leading a local NGO Pann Pyoe Lett Foundation (PPLF) as a Program Director.

MASHAV’s initiative aims to support ongoing development projects launched and operated by graduates of MASHAV training programs, and dedicated to providing developing countries with the best of Israel’s experience in development and planning, and focuses its efforts on capacity building, sharing relevant expertise accumulated during Israel's own development experience to empower governments, communities and individuals to improve their own lives. MASHAV’s Professional programs are based on a “train the trainers” approach to institutional and human capacity building, and they are conducted both in Israel and the recipient country.

This one year project (December 2020 – December 2021) “Trainings of child literacy development and Booklets for Ethnic Groups in Myanmar” aims to focus on 4 main activities: Online Seminar with Ethnic Groups’ Language and cultural Leaders (LCC) – Providing knowledge of the importance of early years and training mentors. Online Training on Early Language & Literacy Development with Parent Education Facilitator, Preschool Teachers and Mentors.

Developing Parenting Tips Booklets for Parents in different ethnic languages.Mentoring and Coaching- several follow up meetings with the participants and with the LCC leaders.

The MASHAV grant giving ceremony was held on 25th, November 2020 at the Embassy of Israel and presented by H.E Mr. Ronen Gilor- ambassador of Israel to Myanmar who gave opening remarks, and handed over the Grant to Daw K Seng Raw - PPLF. Invited members from language literacy committee and the media also attended.
