Independent candidate Dr. Nyo Nyo Thinn for Tanintharyi Township constituency for House of Nationalities (upper house) said that her name was missing in some absentee ballot papers given to voters in a village in Tamote Chone village-tracts, Taninthayi Township, Myeik District.

She learned about the missing of her name on these ballot papers from the voters who cast their absentee ballots and this case happened in her strong constituency so that she had concern over this mistake, candidate Dr. Nyo Nyo Thinn explained to Myeik based media people on November 5.

Taninthayi Township election commission branch chairman Soe Aung said that the name of independent candidate Dr. Nyo Nyo Thinn was not omitted in the ballot papers for House of Nationalities in this constituency.

But candidate Dr. Nyo Nyo Thinn alleged, in her criticism on the election commission branch, that some members of election commission branches did not have the required expertise in law, rules and procedures.

Dr. Nyo Nyo Thinn is contesting in Taninthayi Region No. 9 constituency for the House of Nationalities and Tamote Chon village is in this constituency. There are four polling stations and over 2,800 eligible voters in this village.

A responsible official from the election commission branch said that the voters might have a misunderstanding over this and that they were looking into it.
