Myanmar’s Ministry of Health and Sports has registered one more COVID-19 case with the total going up to 177.

Myanmar has been under partial lockdown now for over a month with the government instituting measures to attempt to stop the spread of the coronavirus and treat those found affected.

As of the morning of 9 May, the tally stood at 177 cases, 67 noted as recovered, and six deaths.

Myanmar has brought in a range of measures including quarantine and the closing of borders and flight arrivals. The country has set up a special committee to deal with the crisis.

However, at this stage the official infection rate remains low compared with other ASEAN nations and countries around the world.
