Myanmar State Counsellor congratulates Indian PM Modi on election win

Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi has sent a letter of congratulation to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bharatiya Janata Party on their winning of the recent elections in India.

In a letter dated 24 May, Suu Kyi expressed her confidence that under Modi’s leadership, India would continue to see socio-economic development and peace and stability.

“In the bilateral context, I look forward to closely working with you to further strengthening and deepening the long-lasting and time tested friendship happily existing between our two countries and peoples,” she said in her letter.

Indian PM Modi has just won a resounding victory in the largest democratic poll in the world.
