The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism says it is planning to resume domestic tourism, which was suspended because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

“All nations have re-started domestic tourism. However, international airline services have yet to resume. Another reason is that we cannot travel from one country to another, so we plan to re-start domestic tourism within our own country,” said the ministry’s Deputy Director General Khin Than Win. “But, travellers must adhere to the guidelines. They cannot go in crowds.”

In planning trips, all must adhere to the COVID-19 related guidelines set by the Ministry of Health and Sports.

Myanmar Tourism Entrepreneurs Association official Kay Thwe Aung has welcomed the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism's decision to allow resumption of domestic tourism.
