Myanmar, India discuss enhancing commercial relations

The Embassy of India, Yangon organized the event “Enhancing Bilateral Commercial Relations” yesterday at Pan Pacific, Yangon.

H.E Ambassador Shri Saurabh Kumar welcomed the delegation led by Shri Patowary, Minister of Commerce & Trade, Government of Assam for an interaction with Executive Committee of India Myanmar chamber of commerce (IMCC) and Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI).

Shri Chandra Mohan Patowary, Minister of Commerce & Trade, Government of Assam spoke about the ‘Act East’ Policy, old ties, trade routes & port, cultural and educational opportunities and Trilateral Highway. Dr. Maung Maung Lay, Vice President, UMFCCI discussed India Myanmar trade ties.

Mr. Naresh Kumar Dinodiya, Vice President, IMCC gave a presentation about IMCC and future plans with emphasis on potential of Economic growth between countries and Indian North East Region in particular with emphasis on connectivity/ transportation between North East Indian Region and Myanmar.
