The International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group has announced the launch of the Myanmar Hydropower Developers’ Association (MHDA), an innovative platform for hydropower companies and industry professionals, hydroworld.com reported.

MHDA was founded in 2016 as the Hydropower Developers’ Working Group, initially led by IFC with support from the Australian government. MHDA is now an independent, Myanmar-registered association that offers a private sector perspective on hydropower policies and the sector’s evolving legal and regulatory frameworks and development, IFC said.

Membership is open to local and foreign-owned hydropower developers, operators, engineering-procurement-construction (EPC) contractors, and related vendors and industry professionals that are currently or soon to be operating in Myanmar.
