Most famous Myanmar artists sign in support of a new movie rating system

Most of the well-known artists have signed up to demand that the censorship system be changed from the current censorship system to rating system as soon as possible for movie releases.

In support of the system change, most of the artists from the fields of literature, music and film industry from Yangon, Mandalay, Pyin Oo Lwin and other areas signed, said Rizaw, vice-chairman of the The Writers and Directors Organization of Myanmar (WDOM).

The signature campaign was held from December 28 to 30. Director Wine, Thar Nyi, Na Gyi, writer Chit Oo Nyo, Juu, actor Kyaw Thu, Yan Aung, Lwin Moe, Pyay Ti Oo, Nay Toe, Min Maw Kun, Ye Tike, Eaindra Kyaw Zin, Phwe Phwe, Chit Thu Wai and other artists signed.

Actor Yan Aung, who signed for this campaign, said that to make a good story the film needed to include the film's essentials, noting that this was the reason he participated.

In addition, music composer Myint Moe Aung, Shwe Jaw Jaw, Singer Zaw Win Htut, Lay Phyu, Ah Nge, Ar Zar Ni, Han Htoo Lwin, Wai La and directors, background actors, theater owner, writers, screenwriters, cinema owners, students of the National University of the Arts and Culture signed in support of the rating system.
