Myanmar's Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Ministry is working to ensure young girls who were sexually abused are able to continue their education, a ministry official said at a parliamentary meeting on Tuesday.

The authorities are making efforts to ensure that every student has access to education without discrimination, U Soe Aung, deputy minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement said.

So far, the ministry has helped 225 young girls who were sexually abused continue their education, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education since 2017-2018 academic year, the deputy minister said.
