Mandalay Region Law Office dismissed a submission sent by Dekhina District Law Office and No. 1 Criminal Investigation Department for the revision of judgment given by Dekhina District trial court in which the accused Aung Gyi in a case of sexual violence against a pre-school girl student ‘Victoria’ was discharged.

In a press briefing given to media Mandalay Region Law Office, Region Law Officer Tin Myint Oo said on February 18 they dismissed the submission for revision as they concluded that the trial court’s order was appropriate and correct so the revision should not be filed to a higher court.

Since the beginning, the police faced much public criticism for their incompetency in handling the case and are facing attempts to prosecute them in criminal case for the irresponsible disclosure of the identity of the rape victim.
