As part of the bilateral cooperation between Israel and Myanmar, supported by MASHAV – Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation, the Embassy of Israel in collaboration with Myanmar – Israel Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Innovation: MICCI, have handed over the Israel Agriculture Demonstration Plot and Open Field Drip Irrigation and Greenhouse to the Department of Agriculture in Hpa-An, Kayin State, according to a statement.

The Embassy of Israel in Yangon initiated this project - the Israeli Agriculture demonstration plot & Greenhouse in Hpa-an, Kayin State according to guidelines of H. E. Daw Nang Khin Htwe Myint and Israeli Ambassador since August 2020, in during the Ambassador’s visit to Kayin State. The main idea of the plot is to enable government staffs and officials members with modern Israeli agriculture state of the art technology and best practices, mainly water management and drip irrigation. “A.T.C Company” did the project with the cooperation and equipment manufactured and supplied by the Israeli cutting- edge technology of irrigation and Greenhouse. The plot includes 500 sq. meters of greenhouse, and 4 acres of open field drip irrigation.

The inauguration ceremony was held on 14th January 2021 at the Kamawkapo Seed Farm, Department of Agriculture Office in Hpa-An, Kayin State according MOHS’s guidelines. The Ambassador of Israel to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Ronen Gilor, H.E. U Saw Myint O (Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation of Kayin State Government) and H. E. U Saw Bo Bo Wai Maung (Minister for Social Affairs of Kayin State Government) were presenting the ceremony and, officials from the Department of Agriculture of the Ministry, as well as Executive Committee members from Kayin State Chambers of Commerce & Industry – KSCCI and the press & media also attended.
