International MPU Union Pay electronic payment card introduced

MPU Union Pay Platinum electronic payment card which can be used in foreign countries was introduced on November 27.

Gary Von, Executive Vice-President, Head of Consumer Banking, said that this payment card could be used at 2.6 million ATMs in over 170 countries and territories across the world.

He said, “We are very much proud and pleased to introduce this MPU Union Pay Platinum Debit Card in Myanmar for the first time in cooperation with Union Pay International (UPI). We assume this as an important milestone of our company. The customers who are using our services can enjoy special privileges from more than 13,000 merchants across the world, they can make payment to 51 million merchants across the world and also they can withdraw money from 2.6 million ATMs in 170 foreign countries and territories.”

This MPU Union Pay Platinum Debit Card was jointly issued by MAB Bank and Union Pay International. The ceremony for launching and introduction of this electronic payment card was held at Pan Pacific Hotel in Yangon on November 27 in the afternoon.

Deputy Chief Business Officer Zaw Moe Aung of Myanma Apex Bank (MAB) said, “Since the inception of our Myanma Apex Bank, we have been working hard to provide our best services to our customers’ financial services requirements.”

Union Pay Platinum Card users can get Global Medical Assistance services, Global Travel Assistance services and special privilege services in booking golf course and concerts.
