Heroin and stimulants seized in Kachin State

Myanmar authorities have seized heroin and stimulants worth of a total of 130 million kyats (86,600 U.S. dollars) in Kachin state, according to Xinhua quoting the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control.

The seizure was made by the anti-drug force at a toll gate on Lwejie-Mankaung road on Sunday afternoon when a truck heading from Namhkam to Lwejie was intercepted and 1.22 kg of heroin and 5,700 tablets of stimulants were found hidden in soap boxes.

Investigation is being made into the case by Lwejie police station to charge the offenders under the country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
