Heavy weapon fire kills one farmer and injures three in Rakhine

Local residents and rescue workers said that a woman was killed and three more women were injured by splinters coming from heavy weapon fire while they were returning back from their paddy fields after work on August 27 in the morning in Ah Pauk Wa sub-township, Kyauktaw Township, Rakhine State.

A military column deployed in the sub-township for security duty allegedly fired on a youth riding a motorcycle, but it missed the target and exploded near the women.

Mizzima contacted Tatmadaw (Defence Services) True News Information Team spokesman Brig. Gen. Zaw Min Tun for comment but there was no response.
