Hilton, together with the United States Embassy, jointly held a ground breaking ceremony for the embassy’s liaison office in the capital city of Myanmar on Thursday, Thailand’s The Nation reported.

The ground breaking ceremony took place in the presence of Ambassador Scot Marciel and Union Minister U Kyaw Tin, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Myanmar.

When it completes in 2020, the liaison office will be housed within Hilton Nay Pyi Taw. It will serve as the official presence of the U.S. government in Nay Pyi Taw, facilitating increased engagement between US diplomats and the Government of Myanmar.
