Former New Law Courts in downtown Yangon of Myanmar has been awarded a blue plaque from the Yangon Heritage Trust (YHT) as a mark of the structure's historic significance, cultural heritage and enduring legacy, Xinhua reported.
The former New Law Courts, now the Rosewood Yangon Hotel, is the 31st site to receive a blue plaque on Sunday to serve as a historic marker.
Founder and Chairman of the YHT Thant Myint-U called for redeveloping the area around the hotel in a way that will protect unparalleled heritage, thanking master craftsman, artisans and designers who worked tirelessly to strike a delicate balance conservation and modernization.
