Normality has returned to Thayet town in Myanmar's central Magway region after a quarrel nearly sparked a riot, according to Xinhua.

The quarrel occurred on Friday between drunk revellers and a car owner whose car window was smashed while parking in front of his own teashop.

The quarrel was under control and 16 people were injured and being treated at a local hospital.

The car owner has filed a case with local police.
