Although China is pushing factories to reopen following the outbreak of coronavirus, countries in Asia, particularly in Southeast Asia, are being negatively affected, according to a report by Quartz.

In Myanmar, factories are reducing hours or pausing operations because of the reduced materials coming from China.

Local media reports indicate that some factories making shoes and bags rely on China for raw materials, forcing some factories to halt production.

The stakes are greater than production delays, according to the Quartz report. The livelihoods of factory workers in these countries may be at risk if the factories employing them aren’t able to resume normal business soon.
