Myanmar authorities seized a large haul of hydrochloric acid in Mandalay region, according to a release from the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC), Xinhua reported.

Acting on a tip-off, the joint police force made a seizure in Amarapura township.

A total of 10,080 litres of hydrochloric acid worth 756 million kyats (540,000 U.S. dollars) were confiscated from the truck.

On the same day, 9,720 liters of hydrochloric acid worth 729 million kyats (520,714 U.S. dollars) were seized in Pyin Oo Lwin township in the same region.
