China hopes to strengthen with Myanmar construction of economic corridor

China hopes to strengthen with Myanmar the construction of the two countries' economic corridor under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Song Tao said, according to Xinhua.

Song made the remarks when he met with Chairperson of Myanmar's National League for Democracy (NLD) and State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi in Nay Pyi Taw.

Song said China attaches high importance to the development of China-Myanmar relations, and called for practical cooperation in all sectors to better serve and bring well-being to the two peoples.

Song also met with leaders of the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) and the Myanmar military.
