Ayeyarwady Region government Chief Minister Hla Moe Aung said that on May 31 Ayeyarwady Health and Education All Round Development Foundation had paid back the last installment of 1.02 billion kyats that they owed the region government.

About 3 billion kyats from the money will be used for building bridges in Ayeyarwady Region where the waterway is the main mode of transport.

“There are about 30 bridges in villages which needed to be rebuilt and repaired. We have to buy backhoes for municipals in our region. We will spend about 3 billion kyats for these bridges and about half or nearly half of remaining 1.5 billion kyats for buying backhoes. And the last remaining amount will be used for potable water resources for villages which are facing water shortages,” CM added.

Ayeyarwady All Round Development foundation which was established by the first government in Ayeyarwady Region donated 5.2 billion kyats to Ayeyarwady Health and Education All Round Development Foundation during their term in 2016 and then the ruling government asked them to repay the money.
