According to the 24-hour forecast made by Meteorology and Hydrology Department, the water level of Ayeyarwady River will reportedly surpass danger levels in Nyaung-U town, Mandalay Region within the next 24 hours.

According to the Meteorology and Hydrology Department on July 27 at 12:30 in the afternoon, the water level in Nyaung-U had reached 2,116 cm (69.4 feet) on July 27 in the afternoon. The danger level of Nyaung-U is 2,120 cm (69.5 feet).

Nyaung-U constituency House of Representatives MP Win Myint Khaing said, “Rising water is not so fast, it rises gradually. The wards in our town have started flooding, so farmers are making arrangements to relocate their cattle to high ground such as monasteries.”
