Due to Aye Nu Sein from Arakan National Party (ANP) accepting a position on the State Administrative Council, some party members have resigned, according to a post on Facebook.

Ko Tun Tun Naing, who ran for the ANP for Pyithu Hluttaw in Ann Township in the 2020 election, also wrote on his social media account that he resigned from the party due to the current political situation. He wrote that "For the failure of the military dictatorship and promotion of democracy, the military dictatorship and its allies will not be accepted."

On February 8, the Arakan National Party (ANP) announced that it will convene a meeting of its Central Committee, which includes elected members and members of the party's Central Committee. More than 40 Rakhine civil society groups exhorted the ANP to not join the military.
