President Office issued a directive dated May 28 which orders all government employees shall work at their offices in full strength starting from June 1. Previously the government ordered only half attended to their works at offices because of COVID-19 outbreak.

This new directive covers all employees of union-level institutions, union ministries, Naypyitaw Council, all States/Regions local governments.

The directive further orders people to observe the social distancing in office vehicles carrying employees to their offices by carrying these employees in half empty vehicles, staggered in departure times.

In the backdrop of COVID-19 outbreak in the country, the government offices arranged only half of their strength attending their works at offices in turn since late May. In this system, half of the strength of each office shall be at office and another half shall be at standby from their homes.
