Airbus aircraft added to Myanmar Airways fleet

An Airbus A319-100 aircraft has joined the fleet of Myanmar Airways International (MAI) after flying from Phoenix, USA, and landing at Yangon International Airport, according to the Global New Light of Myanmar.

The Airbus, full classification A319-100, MSN-5193, XY-ALK, was welcomed with a water salute at the airport by MAI’s Board of Operations Management Chairman Aung Aung Zaw and officials while the MAI veteran pilot who flew the plane from Phoenix was greeted by MAI flight attendants with flower wreaths, according to the report.

MAI’s current fleet consists of five Airbus A319s and an A-320, while four A320-214s and two Embraer 190s are expected to join in the future.
