Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) Chairman Than Htay said that previous successive governments had already built infrastructure for agriculture which could feed 100 million people.

“The size and area of our country can feed millions of people. The previous successive governments have already built infrastructure for agriculture big enough to feed at least 100 million people,” USDP Chairman Than Htay said.

Chairman Than Htay was speaking during his opening address delivered at USDP Women Conference Day 2 programme held at party HQ in Naypyitaw on December 12.

He also said that the government was responsible for building labour intensive industry in the country and for creating job opportunities for unemployed people as many able-bodied male and female job seekers were migrating to foreign countries.

This Women Conference was held on December 11 and 12 and it was attended by USDP Chairman Than Htay, Vice-Chairman Myat Hein, party CEC members and delegates from all States/Regions.
