Parliament Wednesday approved taking a loan worth 51.2 million U.S. dollars from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to upgrade roads in rural areas, Xinhua reported.

The loan will be used for the Rural Road and Access Project which is being managed by the Construction Ministry.

The project covers 27 bridges, 412 box culverts, causeways and other road infrastructure in Ayeyarwady and Magway regions, U Kyaw Lin, deputy minister for construction, told the parliament.
