20 more poll stations to be established in Kachin

The Kachin State Election Commission Secretary says that 20 more polling stations will be arranged in Kachin State for the 2020 General Elections.

As a measure to control COVID-19 outbreak and to arrange enough polling stations, Waingmaw and Hpakant Townships have requested the election commission to arrange more polling stations.

So, Myitkyina will get eight new poll stations; Hpakant will get eight; and Waingmaw will get four.

Kachin State Election Commission Secretary U Tun Aung Khaing said they will inspect the new polling stations.

Htoi Gender And Development Foundation Project Manager Ma Khawn Sant welcomed the establishment of new polling stations as an effective measure to control the COVID-19 outbreak.
